I think it's safe to say I have never eaten a goji berry until trying the Goji Almond Oat cookies from Goji Gourmet. And as a result? I think I like goji berries!
According to the package, these cookies contain goji berries, which are "nutrient-rich fruits that are HIGH IN ANTIOXIDANTS". I was excited- does this mean these are healthier cookies? I could tell I liked them already! Another thing I liked? The fact that a serving size was 2 cookies, and only 50 calories. I can get used to that!
These cookies are rather small, about the size of a cotton ball, and crumbly in texture. There are visible goji berries that resemble dried cranberries in these cookies, as well as some pieces of almonds.
As for the taste, these cookies were actually really good! They had a light buttery taste, with a nice combination of both brown sugar and vanilla flavors. The overall sweetness also had a bit of a tangy-sweet flavor from the goji berries. I also liked how the pieces of almonds added just the right amount of crunch and flavor- not overpowering at all.
Overall, I really enjoyed these cookies! Although they are rather bite-sized than large cookies, they still provide great flavor, and I can certainly see myself snacking on these again!
