Well, I believe this is my first experience with an all natural frosting, and I must say, it was quite a good one!
Naturally Nora Extraordinary Vanilla Frosting Mix was easy to make, and produced rather good results. The frosting mix itself resembled powdered sugar- it was white and certainly fluffy! I put the mix in a bowl with a melted stick of all natural butter, and then added about 4 tablespoons of skim milk. I decided to mix this by hand with a spoon rather than use an electric mixer, but it was still simple none-the-less.
As I mixed the frosting together, I noticed it became very thick and creamy- almost like sour cream or greek yogurt! It was a pale yellow in color, and spread easily on the cupcakes I had prepared.
As for the taste, it had a really great vanilla flavor, and was really quite sweet. It was a VERY rich frosting, which I would assume is from the stick of butter that is used in this recipe. Although I did enjoy it, I almost found it a bit too buttery tasting- as it had a bit of a "tangy" aftertaste. I sort of wish it was more of a sweeter frosting, and not as buttery tasting. However, I can see myself using this again, as it was easy to make, but perhaps I will use a little less butter.
