OK, so I guess you've noticed...I have STOPPED tracking and stopped posting. Maybe that's because I really don't want to lose weight as much as I think I do. Or because I really really like to eat. And ten pounds? How much is it anyway?? I can tell you I haven't really moved up or down and I'm still down 2-3 pounds from my start date which is good. I guess. But I do want to tell you about this AWESOME natural toffee that I found called:
Cary's English Toffee. It truly is delicious. All natural. And only 90 calories for three pieces. They come in 5 flavors but I tasted 3: Dark Chocolate with Hazelnut, Dark Chocolate with Espresso, and Toffee Fingers. All I can say? HMMMMMMM. At only 2 Weight Watchers Points, this is a great, all natural snack and perfect for any dieter!

I haven't dieted all week, but still trying to eat only natural. And doing OK. Just eating TOO MUCH natural food. Grrr. Had Amy's Low Sodium Organic Soup for dinner, so only had 1285 calories today. If I really kept this up, I would lose 8 pounds in 5 weeks. That wouldn't be too bad! With all the wine on Friday (2 glasses) and Sat (1 glass)-- I am having a tough time with my daughter (17-I can shoot myself) I think I must be up on the scale. Not having worked out all week either. Spending TOO MUCH TIME working. Oh well. Tomorrow is another day! At least I am conscious of what I am eating. As I am eating it!!!

Hi Y'all,
Still only down 3.5 pounds due to my yo-yo eating habits. I didn't have anything to drink last night, and I am really proud, despite the fact that I ate at this amazing
Korean barbeque place in Soho and everyone around me was drinking awesome looking martinis. I was good, though and had some delicious chicken, a salad, some strange and very spicy Korean appetizers--but me thinks they are not really Korean, just parading under the guise of Korean. Anyway, today was not too bad either. Ate this:
Al lright, but before that had a few bites of THIS whopping roll.
But I did work out today, kind of. Burned about 107 calories which was probably that 4 bites of a roll.

So you must be wondering by now what peanut butter has to do with a diet? Well, I think I figured something out. There IS a reason why I quit- quit posting, quit tracking and all that stuff. It's because I am BORED with what I am eating. So, I decided to take a walk on the wild side today. Not with breakfast which was my usual coffee yogurt and raisins, but with LUNCH. I craved carbs. So carbs it was. First an amazing slice of Ultimate Grain All Natural Granola bread (which weighed in at 110 calories/slice). They don't have a website, otherwise I'd like you to it. Then, delicious creamy brad's organic peanut butter. I had less than the two tables spoons. Lastly, Brad's Organic fruit spread. And YUM. I also switched to a new tracker called
My Fitness Pal and I find it a lot easier than Spark People's tracker. Sorry Spark People, yours just takes too long. My Fitness pal also has a lot more natural and organic foods than spark people. Well anyway, I find out that I really need to eat 1200 calories per day NOT 1400 (bye bye wine). So, a pretty tasty lunch at only 306 calories, but 12 grams of protein. Yikes, only 500 calories left for the day! I need to BE STRONG.

But I'm still only down 4. Because I am eating TOO MUCH. I haven't tracked for 1 week, and I am not feeling happy about myself. I know that I have to get back on track and stop eating so much, but it is too darn hard with all the food and drink around me in Manhattan. HOWEVER, since I am down the 4 pounds, and holding steady, I do feel good about that. More to come. Soon. I promise. I think. At least tonight was only ONE glass of wine. I am rambling. Over and out.

Ok, I really haven't given up. I am still down 4 pounds, even though it's been a month and I haven't tracked since Thursday. But that doesn't mean I am not completely CONSCIOUS of everything that is going in my mouth and down my throat. And another thing I have started doing at least 3 times a week is exercise. Which really paid off because on Sunday, while every one else was out tanning themselves on the sundeck, and I was working out, I met a hot, HOT fitness instructor. With whom I might get trained. But at $110 per 1 hour session, it really got me to thinking. Hard. Like, do I really need a fitness trainer when, like I can do THIS?
Does anyone know if this thing works??
At any rate, one of the fitness, diet tips I read today really inspired me and that was, it wasn't how many times you fell off the wagon, it's the ability to never give up and to keep going on. And, I say, I haven't gained my weight back, so it's really exciting. And totally cool. Four pounds down, 6 to go. Tracking to follow starting tomorrow!

This week has been hell. Hell on my diet that is. Tuesday I was feeling all good and everything--down 5 pounds total. But then Tuesday night was a wine tasting and despite the fact that I worked out in the morning, I drink like a fish and up two pounds again today-- so thus far, weight loss is still only about 2-3 pounds. ARGGGGH after 23 days! And it's because I am NOT tracking regularly. I did work out today, and I think I ate about 200 calories of snacks. Lunch was Salmon, breakfast, the usual, but I didn't write it all down. I am going to work out again tomorrow, NOT DRINK any of the left over wine from the wine tasting, and see what Saturday brings. Does anyone else out there do this??? At least by writing to you all, I know that I can't go off completely. However, one completely good thing, is that I have been super conscious of eating Only Natural Food- 'cept for the occasional diet coke. (YUCK! what am I thinking??) Anyway, it's 8:38-- time to leave the office.

Ok, so what I've learned from all this shinanagans is that YOU HAVE TO TRACK. I have been working out however, so it hasn't been completely gluttonous. I guess, I could have gained more than 2 pounds back so I have to stop feeling sorry for myself. But it's SO HARD. Up, down, and up again! Just so you know, my natural snacks for today were from
Everyday Gourmet (but only a 1/4 serving). Yummy and all natural. Anyway, so here's the calorie count for today:

I am NOT even going to track the calories I consumed over the weekend. This week was really really bad, and the scale showed it. Up two pounds.
GRRRR. Between Passover and Easter, I am a goner. Yesterday in Queens, I really tried. I did. I started out ok, with the "good" stuff. Which looked like this:
and this:
After the salad, and veggies, and turkey, and wine... I ended with this:
(yes, it's no less than five desserts, and lest I insult anyone who brought dessert, I had a taste of each). And then of course, I had to sample this:
which was the freshly baked Greek desserts being eaten by the neighbors next door who kindly brought a plate for us to sample. Need I say more? But today? Well, I'll save that for my next post.

This is when it happens-- I eat too much. I stop tracking. I gain. I lose. But here is yesterday: The usual breakfast of about 200 calories. Lunch was cool too...just a salad and lightness and everything until I was, once again, working too hard, too long and I surrcombed to this ginormous cookie:
But I didn't eat the whole thing, just a bite. So you may wonder where it all breaks down? Dinner. Fuggin' dinner. Mexican, chips, yes, the whole enchilada. Ha--no pun intended. So, another unknown day. I didn't weigh in either. So, there you have it. Here's to back on track after Easter dinner. (Hey, I'm one of the lucky ones...Passover AND Easter). It's good to be an American.
