I don't think anything is better than a nice, warm bowl of oatmeal on a cold, winter day. And after trying Holly's Oatmeal in Wickedly Plain, I certainly know a brand I can depend on for not only great taste, but also great nutrition. Before I cooked up the oatmeal, I noticed that the oats kind of resembled a combination of both instant and rolled oats- as some pieces were big and some small. There were also pieces that looked like brown flakes.
Once I started cooking it, I noticed it got very creamy in consistency and absorbed the water quite well. I glanced at the nutrition facts and was quite impressed. I love that it had 8 grams of fiber and 12 grams of protein for a 1/2 cup serving!
Once it was done, I added a little sweetener like I usually do, and tasted some. This stuff was good! I loved that it was both creamy and chewy in consistency, and overall it really was quite enjoyable. I can see myself eating it again, especially on a cold winter morning.
