Here's a combination I thought I would have never eaten- goji berries and chocolate. Well, that was until I tried Goji Gourmet Goji Chocolate Chip Cookies, that combine both goji berries, and mini chocolate chips.
Upon opening the package, I detected a fruity yet buttery smell, which was certainly enticing. Then I looked at the cookies and my first thought was that these cookies were a bit smaller than the cookies I normally eat, and about the shape and size of a cotton ball. There are visible pieces of goji berries, which sort of looked like dried cranberries, and very few chocolate chip specks. I was actually a bit disappointed that the chocolate chips were so tiny.
As for the texture, these were crumbly cookies that actually were a tad bit gritty- but in a good way. They were also "soft and chewy" just as the front of the package says- which was quite nice. As for the taste, they sort of reminded me of a cross between a chocolate chip cookie with a buttery-rich taste, and an oatmeal raisin cookie (with the goji berries being swapped for raisins) providing the sweetness.
Overall, they were enjoyable cookies. My only complaint was that I wish there was a stronger chocolate flavor, as I really didn't taste much at all. Otherwise, I can see myself eating these again!
