Having tasted other red varieties from Frey we had a high hopes for this wine. We were not let down though initially we felt a bit disappointed. This organic, natural Merlot is complex with strong hints of vanilla and pepper (no plums!) and great, somewhat tart body. It is not as approachable as the other wines from Frey and it requires more patience and almost intellectual effort to understand it. The way this wine puzzled my brain it remained me of some symphonies by Mahler, that require real effort but reveal hidden depth of tones. Solid 4.
