Alas, I've been drawn to a product featuring cute cartoons on the cover, yet again. Aside from having adorable lemurs on the front, Nature's Path Leapin Lemurs Cereal is gluten free, organic, and quite tasty, indeed.
This cereal includes both chocolate and peanut butter pieces of cereal, in the shape of small balls. I sort of wish they were just a bit bigger- although it was nice to see a stuffed bag of cereal when I opened the box!
Each piece was very crunchy, and harder than I had expected. The peanut butter pieces were good- slightly salty with a good peanut butter flavor. The chocolate pieces, however, I was a bit disappointed with. I wish they had more of a chocolate-y flavor, to sort of make a "sweet and salty" feel for the cereal. They were good- but had more of a mild cocoa taste, rather than a chocolatey flavor.
I normally eat cereal as both a snack to munch on dry, and with some type of milk. These worked well in milk- stayed crunchy for the most part, and were quite delicious. However, I didn't really enjoy them dry as much as I had hoped to. However, the peanut butter pieces were better than the chocolate ones. I was also slightly disappointed that a serving size was 3/4 of a cup, for 120 calories.
