A few weeks ago I was sent the most wonderful package of bars from the
Simply Bar company. Because I knew I would be going on vacation soon and relying on on-the-go snacks to power me through long days at the theme parks, I tried my hardest to resist resist breaking in to the stash until arriving to Florida.
It was a brutal week.
The other day, in the midst of my
Universal Studio-ing, I was finally able to rip in to their new cocoa raspberry variety.
As we all know, I have a deep and profund passion for chocolate and raspberries.
Needless to say, my palate had high expectations for this bar.
I’m happy to say that every single one of them was met (and exceeded)
If I were a better blogger, I would have found the self-restraint to peel myself away from the bar for a second to take a picture, but alas, I was far too consumed with the deep chocolately flavor complimented by hunks of REAL raspberries. And, similar to the other bars, the texture of this bar was awesome: chewy melt in your mouth goodness.
and can we just talk about the nutritional stats for a second?
16 grams of protein? Sat in my belly like a brick for hours.
Okay, perhaps comparing this bar to a brick that sits in my belly for hours doesn’t seem to be the most complimentary review, but as someone who suffers from raging hunger every hour, on the hour, this was defintiely a plus for me. They certainly live up to their slogan
I also really appreciate the short and sweet ingredient list, which is essentially just soy crisps, agave nectar, brown rice syrup, raspberries, and cocoa.
Although I wasn’t able to committ completely to the JERF challenge, I still try to maintain a degree of awareness in terms of the ingredients that go in to the foods I eat. I like to live by the mantra “less is more”.
at least in terms of ingredients
and working out
and spending money
not so much in terms of peanut butter, though.
Anyway, so I’m pretty sure the pack of 8 bars that the company sent me will be gone by Wednesday.
I’m already dreading Thursday
Oh, and for the record – these bars are
- vegan
- milk/gluten free
- kosher
- all natural
- low glycemic
In other words? They’re perfection in a package.
Speaking of their packaging, how lovely are the new wrappers?!
old
new
Major thank you to the Simply Bar team for the awesome opportunity to review these products. I’m in love!

What criteria do you look for when purchasing a granola bar/snack? Okay, let me rephrase that. What nutritional criteria do you look for when purchasing a granola bar/snack (because, of course, taste should always be the first criteria) For me, it’s all about the protein/fat factor. I’m all over any bars that I have a healthy dosage of protein and fat to keep me going.
