I really happen to enjoy tea- both warm and iced. Nothing like a cup of warm tea on a cold, wintry day or some iced tea to go with a meal. I got a coupon to try one of the Tazo Zero Calorie Naturally Sweetened Iced Teas, and the only one available at my grocery store was the Refresh flavor, so I decided to give that one a try.
This tea has no caffeine, and according to the bottle is an “herbal infusion with peppermint and spearmint”. I love when drinks have natural sweeteners AND aren’t loaded with refined, white sugar, so I was happy to give this a try.
Unfortunately, I really did not enjoy it. The bottle claims to be “naturally sweetened” but I did not taste even a hint of sweetness. It reminded me of a watered down black tea with a minty aftertaste. The smell was very minty and rather strong, so I was sort of expecting a stronger mint flavor, but it really wasn’t as strong as I had thought it would be. I just really did not enjoy it.
Overall, this gets 1 star from me. While I love that it’s sweetened naturally, and I guess I can see why perhaps it’s called “refresh”, like a mint can refresh someone after eating a meal, it’s just not my cup of tea (no pun intended ;P ). Perhaps the other flavors of Passion or Zen might be tastier.
