‘Evening, you beautiful people! How was your day?
I wish I could say that mine was productive and jam packed with excitement, but alas, it was leisurely and relaxed. Maybe I’ll do something with my life next week.
After we last spoke I hit the mat for a hip opening flow which was exactly what I needed after my past two days of core fusion (are we sick of hearing about that yet?). The session was delicious.
But not as delicious as my post-yoga snack
Ezekial english muffin topped with peanut flour paste (+ chia seeds for some more healthy fat action) and bloobs.
Later on I did some errands around the house for mama including
- emptying the dishwasher
- folding the laundry
- vacuuming the basement
Thanks.
My last chore, naturally, was polishing off some lunch
- black bean spaghetti
- broccoli
- brussels
- grape tomatoes
- almonds
- hummus
- nutritional yeast.
To cook the spaghetti I whipped out a gizmo that I bought using a promo code that I received from the CSN company (my one stop online shop for..well, everything) a few weeks ago. Always compelled to take the easy way out (especially in the kitchen) I was intrigued by the concept of a “microwave pasta cooker”.
For some reason I think I subconsciously feel like, because I’m in college, I need to use every opportunity I can to use the microwave.
Truth be told, pasta cooker was no easier than just cooking the pasta over the stove. It didn’t save any time, clean up was the same, and – if anything – it was more difficult to use because there were so many different lids and strainers I had to sort through.
I suppose that’ll teach me to stop trying to always take the easy way out.
Needless to say, when snack time rolled around later in the afternoon I was craving simplicity:
apple slices, carrots, blue corn tortilla chips, PB. No fuss, no hassle, just pure goodness.
Now I should go work on my Advanced Comp paper, but my new book sounds so much more pleasurable right now.
What’s the most useless gadget that you own?
