new month, new goals.

Happy Tuesday, friends, and more importantly, HAPPY MARCH!!!! It feels so great to say that. February just sounds so wintery.

I started off the day (and month) with an unconventional breakfast of sorts, bursting with color, carbs, protein, and fat.

raspberries, carrots, cottage cheese, almond butter, chia seeds.

I have two huge bags of carrots that I need to get through before spring break on Friday. That shouldn’t be a problem.

This meal was a little more lunchy than breakfasty, but regardless – it was yummy.

Being that it is a new month, I suppose I should use this as an excuse to set goals for myself. We’re all in need of some self-improvement, right?

March Goals

  1. Wake up by 8:00am (at the latest) every morning: With my pretty non-existent class schedule, I could technically sleep in as late as I want every day. I know, a college student’s dream, right? Not I. For the past few days I’ve been setting my alarm to 8:00am and it feels awesome to have such a long luxurious morning to myself. I know a lot of you are laughing right now because you consider 7:00am to be “sleeping in”. My day will come.
  2. Eat more saturated fats: I touched on this briefly before but my body needs ‘em right now, I know it.
  3. Organize myself: I’m a closet slob. Walk in to my room and it’s seemingly neat and tidy, but open my closet or desk drawers and it’s a complete pig sty.
  4. Start journaling: I have a lot of thoughts (sometimes positive, sometimes negative) and, because I have a lot of down time, some days I just think all day and this can really effect my mood (again, sometimes positively, sometimes negatively). I need to start releasing my thoughts, getting them out of my head, and on to paper.
  5. Gain muscle mass: I’m not going to set an exact number for myself (because numbers are so overrated) but I definitely want to gain a few pounds and am hoping my recent infatuation with strength training will help me to do that!

Sounds like I have a month of growth and productivity ahead of me… starting now!

Off to clean my room and start my day :)
